Elm with steel fixings
Commissioned by The Great North Forest
Sited at West Pelton, Co Durham
Length 3.25 metres
1995
This sculpture was commissioned as part of a programme of work
designed to highlight the development of a new footpath network.
I was asked to produce a work in the difficult setting of a
roadside stile. I decided on a design, which gave definition
to the entrance space, and invited access onto the footpath
through creating momentum in the direction of the sculpture.
Unfortunately this work has now been damaged by farm machinery.
