Scots Pine with steel and concrete fixing
Commissioned by Brampton Parish Council
Sited on The Sands, Brampton, Cumbria
Length approx. 12 metres
1995
This sculpture is sourced in the dynamic movement created by
the sloping bank on which the work is set, and the speed of
people in their cars as they rush past on their way into Brampton.
I have responded to this momentum and built a sculpture that
seems to have come alive in a crazy careering chase. I find
it hard to say much about this sculpture other than ‘It
works’. And it does.
