This giant percussion instrument was designed as part of a regeneration
programme for a derelict and neglected area of common land in
Huntingdon. I worked closely with young people who live near
the common in order to develop ideas for contributions to the
site that they would wish to see. Some of them built their own
musical instruments during sculpture workshops, and it quickly
became apparent that these were the most favoured ideas. In
response to this I built this instrument for a site on the common,
and it has become a very popular feature amongst young people.
